comparison between builds for PvP
i cant really decide between mo/w dual stance or mo/a return monk for pvp. idk how is return good in pvp , isnt blocking better than causing cripple on say a warrior or maybe a ranger ? yes the shadow step helps against melees but melees aren't really a problem if you ask me, although KD can be quite irritating. i just want to know what you guys think would be best for a RA Monk and btw , i was thinking of Peace and Harmony as an elite but apparently healing isnt that good on a PnH Bar, was wondering if anyone had a good PnH Bar out there who would like to share it with me.
help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

/W is better for defense. /A is better for mobility.

Well... considering you're talking about RA, I don't think there's really a definite answer. You don't know what you're going to go up against. Personally, I would rather have Return. It seems that with Return you get a little bit more safety time, considering you can teleport away and everyone near you becomes Crippled. With the stances, though, you don't have to target someone far away, and you can also mess up an Assassin's or Warrior's skill lineup. It's really up to you.

In best case scenarios, [[Return] will usually work better than the warrior stances. Also, I've had great success using [[Dark Escape] on Mo/A builds even at low spec, simply because it can save you from dying at a critical moment. The problem with Return though, is that if your allies aren't positioned intelligently, you won't be getting too much use out of it. In RA where you never know how competent your allies will be, you can't count on using Return effectively. That's why I prefer going Mo/W of the two.
I would advise against using a PnH build, simply because they aren't good at dealing with spikes. With the current RA meta filled with [[Palm Strike] sins and [[Burning Arrow] turret rangers, you're in for a rough time. If played right, you can combat even nasty [[Visions of Regret] mesmers by using [[Holy Veil] effectively on your standard [[Word of Healing] bar.
If you are looking for other options than WoH, you can have a lot of fun with [[Melandru's Resilience] with [[Draw Conditions]. Against condition/hex heavy teams, you can spam skills all match long without any energy worries.

you forgot primal rage, thats when you need stances . and having palm strike casted on you , you might not be able to run on time to use return , thus resulting in a KD and without a stance block , you might die from the assassins spike.
Melandru's Resilience is good but the skills to push red bars up aren't really that good. In my opinion , if i were to rate em , i'd go for mo/w -> mo/a -> PnH -> Melandru.
i like PnH because it provides really good removal . if i'm not wrong , pnh works well with another healer , while the healer focus on healing , you'd focus on supporting and removal.
ive never tried using dark escape in PvP for a mo/a. i guess ill try it

Which is why Mo/W are preferred in RA

I think not. You already stated the hierarchy which I too think is correct.

P&H generally owns mesmers/necros. Well timed Patient spirits and Guardians can handle alot. Not to mention P&H allows bar compression.

Dark escape doesn't provide anything that Dis Stance or Return can't do better.
If I was being spiked, especially KD, Dis stance. If hounded, return.
